CONTRAINDICATIONS
Lymphatic massage aim's to stimulate the flow of lymphatic fluid in the body. ACUTE INFECTIONS +
Lymphatic massage should not be performed when there's an active infection present in the body. This includes conditions like cellulitis, sepsis, or other localized or systemic infections. The massage could potentially spread the infection or interfere with the body's natural healing process.
ACUTE INFLAMMATION +
If there is an acute inflammatory condition, such as rheumatoid arthritis flare-up or an acute injury with significant swelling, lymphatic massage may exacerbate the inflammation or cause discomfort. It is important to allow the acute phase of inflammation to subside before considering lymphatic massage.
DEEP VEIN THROMBOSIS (DVT)
Individuals with a history of or current deep vein thrombosis, which is the formation of blood clots in deep veins, should avoid lymphatic massage. The massage could potentially dislodge the clot, leading to serious complications such as pulmonary embolism.
KIDNEY OR LIVER PROBLEMS +

ACTIVE BLEEDING OR BLOOD CLOTTING DISORDERS +
